Duplin ECA Club Sew Adult Bibs
Duplin County Extension and Community Associations (ECA) participate in local projects as volunteer workers and provide service through skills like sewing, crocheting and knitting. Recently, the Duplin ECA club started sewing adults bibs for donation to local senior and assisted living home-residents. As the project is under way, ECA members are asking for donations of fabric that can be used to make these adult-size bibs. Members above were working to adapt a child’s bib pattern to the appropriate size for adults and making sample guides for future sewing workshops. Pictured left to right, are club members Ruby Brinson, Olivia Williams, Eloise Coston, and Duplin ECA President Theresa Bowles. ECA has evolved from the former Home Demonstration Clubs started 100 years ago in conjunction with the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service family and consumer sciences educational outreach. For more information related to the Duplin ECA Club fabric drive phone Theresa Bowles at 910.879.7132. Fabric may also be dropped off, for the ECA project, at the Duplin Cooperative Extension office in Kenansville. The club’s liaison leader with the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Duplin County Center is Bridget Huffman, interim county director.
