Knife skills are a basic skill for cooking and help to boost your confidence when making homemade meals. Learn how to hold, use, and care for various knives while learning how to work with fresh foods! This is a hands-on workshop for youth, teens, and adults. Youth (recommended ages 12 and up) must participate with an adult.

Masks will be required throughout the workshop and participants will practice social distancing. If you are not able to wear a mask, covering both the mouth and nose, for the entire workshop, please signup for our virtual class instead (coming soon). Refunds will not be issued if you choose not to attend in-person on the day of the event

This workshop will be held at 5:15 p.m. on September 15th, 2021. Participants will learn the basics of knife care and use, complete with a demonstration of various cuts referred to in recipes while using fresh fruits and vegetables. Each participant will make their own jar of homemade salsa during the workshop to practice their knife skills. Class cost is $5, cash or check. Check payable to Duplin County, mailed to P.O. Box 949, Kenansville, NC 28349. You may also drop off your $5 during our business hours.
